ESTANCIA, N.M. (AP) - Torrance County Sheriff Heath White has won top honors from his fellow western state sheriffs.

White has named last month “Sheriff of the Year” by Western States Sheriffs’ Association at the group’s annual conference.

The group says White was selected based on his new programs he’s introduced and his leadership in the New Mexico Sheriffs’ Association.
