WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - A Warwick cyclist is in critical condition after he was struck by a car driven by a Cranston woman.

Warwick Police Lt. Michael Gilbert said on Saturday that the crash occurred late Friday on Greenwich Avenue.

Police say preliminary investigations showed neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash, and charges are not likely to be filed.

Still, investigators ask anyone with information related to the crash to contact Warwick police.

Police say the 63-year-old cyclist was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. Authorities did not immediately release his name because his relatives had not been notified.

Police identified the car driver as 44-year-old Brenda Swenson.
