VAIL, Colo. (AP) - A 28-year-old Bond woman who acknowledged trying to beat her boyfriend to death with a table leg has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The Vail Daily reports (https://bit.ly/1g98ZHV ) Emily Anderson was sentenced Thursday after previously pleading guilty to a charge of second-degree attempted murder stemming from the April 27 fight with her boyfriend of three years. She’ll be eligible for parole in five years.

Prosecutors say Anderson attacked her boyfriend with the table leg at his home and fled. Friends of the victim found him lying in a pool of blood and called 911.

The victim, who was beaten unconscious, suffered a skull fracture, bleeding inside his skull, a broken left forearm and multiple cuts on his scalp and face.

Bond is about 25 miles northwest of Vail.
