ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. (AP) - Alexander City Police and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation are probing a fatal police-involved shooting.

Authorities say an officer was responding to a fight outside a Huddle House restaurant early Saturday morning and one of the men who was involved got in his vehicle and tried fleeing the scene. Police say the man drove toward an officer, who fired his weapon.

The man was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead. His name hasn’t been released.
