RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - A man accused of hitting an elderly man in the head with a beer bottle, causing his death, has been sentenced to four to 10 years in prison.
The Riverton Ranger reports (https://bit.ly/1i1yFqq ) Shey Elan Bruce was sentenced Thursday for the May 14, 2013, attack on 65-year-old Charles Darrell Laster, of Shoshoni. Bruce was convicted of manslaughter but acquitted of second-degree murder.
At the trial, jurors heard that both Bruce and Laster were drinking for hours before the attack.
Bruce apologized Thursday and said he did not mean to kill Laster.
