SALEM, Ore. (AP) - If visitors to the Capitol in Salem have to step around a wet spot on the floor, they’ll see a posh-looking caution sign in subdued colors.

Legislative administrator Kevin Hayden says a visitor complained that the standard yellow signs cheapened their visit to the Capitol.

KATU (https://bit.ly/1mh8cp3) found that the two new signs cost $129 each.

Worldwide Janitorial Supplies in Portland sells the standard yellow caution sign for about $15. A Worldwide employee points out that warning signs are brightly colored for safety.

Hayden says the news signs weren’t a terrible expense and they look much better.
