ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police have arrested three men sought on warrants after a standoff in the Spenard area that involved tear gas and a street closure that lasted for hours.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro says police arrested one man outside of the targeted house on Wednesday but another man fled inside.

The department’s SWAT team arrived, along with negotiators and K-9 units, and settled in to wait.

Castro says a second man sought by police surrendered about 6 p.m. Police then deployed tear gas inside the home. They arrested the third man about 8 p.m.

KTUU-TV reports that the police spokeswoman told reporters at the scene that the crimes for which the men were sought were not related to any currently in the news.
