BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - Bridgeport police are investigating after several elementary school students reported being pricked with needles inside their school.

Dr. Deborah Santacapita, the principal at the Hallen School sent a letter home to parents Wednesday confirming that a third grader had brought five needles into the school on Tuesday. She did not indicate what type of needles were involved.

Three students reported they were intentionally pricked and school officials said a fourth came into contact with the needles. The students were all taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where they were evaluated and released.

Police and school security are investigating. No arrests have been made.
