CONCORD, N.Y. (AP) - A school bus driver is hospitalized following a crash involving her bus and a tractor trailer in western New York.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says there were no children on the bus Wednesday when a Maryland truck driver ran a stop sign at an intersection in the town of Concord, about 30 miles south of Buffalo.

The truck collided with a southbound bus from the Springville-Griffith Institute. The 56-year-old bus driver, Marlene Golabek of Springville, was taken by helicopter to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, where she was in stable condition Wednesday evening.

Truck driver David Barry of Denton, Maryland, was not hurt. The 26-year-old was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, failure to yield the right of way, and a log book violation.
