BENTON, La. (AP) - The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a substitute teacher accused of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old student at Parkway High School in Haughton.

The sheriff’s office says 29-year-old Chelsea A. Alexander, was booked Monday with prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and student.

If convicted of the misdemeanor charge, Alexander would face a fine of up to $1,000 and six months in jail.

Sheriff Julian Whittington said in a news release Wednesday that an anonymous tip to Bossier CrimeStoppers led to Alexander’s arrest.
