AURORA, Ill. (AP) - An Aurora baby born 16 weeks early is heading home from the hospital, just in time for Mother’s Day.
According to Edward Hospital in Naperville, when Michael Newson was born on Jan. 12, he weighed just 1 pound, 8 ounces.
Michael spent nearly four months in the hospital’s Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
Hospital Public Information Officer Keith Hartenberger says Michael went home Thursday, with his parents, Lea and Bryan Newson. He joins siblings Nicholas, Nathaniel and Maya.
Michael weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces when he left the hospital.
