FOLSOM, Calif. (AP) - Officials say they are searching a lake east of Sacramento for those aboard a speedboat that capsized.

State parks department spokeswoman Vicky Waters tells The Sacramento Bee (https://bit.ly/1iCw9n8 ) that the vessel has been recovered after overturning Saturday afternoon on Folsom Lake. She says the people on board haven’t been found.

It was unclear how many people are missing or why the 35- to 40-foot vessel capsized.

State Parks ranger Ryan Steele says officials are working with family members to identify the occupants.

A California Highway Patrol helicopter has helped in the search, but dive teams have been hindered by high winds with gusts of 25 to 30 mph.

Steele says it was a single-boat accident near Granite Bay and was reported at 1:45 p.m.
