ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - Arlington County is moving to crack down on loud, raucous parties and bar crawls with tougher noise control ordinances and fines.
The Washington Post (https://wapo.st/1jPVVZJ ) reports the county board passed legislation Saturday that will go into effect July 1. It bars anyone from “yelling, wailing, shouting or screaming” between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. in Arlington.
The rules are even tougher in busy mixed-use neighborhoods, such as Clarendon and Ballston. Any group of four or more people yelling or screaming that can be heard inside a home between midnight and 9 a.m. will be in violation.

Owners of outdoor bars and cafes that permit such noise can also be charged with civil or criminal violations. Fines have been increased from $25 to at least $100 to $2,500.
