BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Bismarck’s 142nd birthday will be celebrated Wednesday.

The Bismarck Historical Society and the State Historical Society of North Dakota will hold a free party at the Camp Hancock State Historic Site.

The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/SPON6c ) reports the event will feature a flag ceremony, music and a brief dedication of a tree in honor of Frank Vyzralek. He served as North Dakota’s archivist and died in February.

The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring chairs and blankets.

In case of bad weather, the celebration will be moved to the Missouri River Special Events Center at the North Dakota Heritage Center.
