CORINTH, Vt. (AP) - Vermont state police are investigating an all-terrain vehicle crash that seriously injured a man they say remains in the intensive care unit at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Police say 22-year-old Joshua Briere was riding his ATV on Ryder Road in Corinth when he lost control and hit a tree at about 6 p.m. Saturday.
Other riders took Briere from the scene before police arrived.
Police say they were soon called to a nearby residence where Briere was taken. They say they learned that Briere was travelling too fast when he lost control on a curve in the road.
They say they also got a search warrant to test his blood for alcohol.
Briere suffered serious head injuries, police said. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
