SLATINGTON, Pa. (AP) - A 72-year-old fisherman has died after falling into the Lehigh River in eastern Pennsylvania.

State police investigators said Laverne Hunsicker of Greenwich Township, Berks County, was fishing in the river when he fell.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said Hunsicker was pulled from the river shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday and pronounced dead a short time later.

An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death.
