WEST BRANCH, Mich. (AP) - A camp experience planned for this summer will allow adults to channel their inner child.

Appropriately called “Camp Kitigin,” it will be held Aug. 15-17, and Sept. 12-14, at YMCA Camp Timbers in West Branch.

The camp was created by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Michigan Recreation and Park Association.

It’s designed to help adults disconnect from their busy lives and reconnect with nature. Camp Kitigin’s “screen-free” weekends provide a tech timeout so campers can remember what it feels like to enjoy the outdoors.

The cost is $200 per camper and includes lodging, meals and activities. Proceeds will be donated to the park association to help fund youth athletic programs statewide.
