BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Montana State officials say a point guard from a California high school will play for the Bobcats’ men’s basketball team next season.

Joey Frenchwood is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard from Newark, California. He averaged 17 points, six assists and four rebounds as a senior at Memorial High School.

Montana State coach Brian Fish says Frenchwood will bring toughness and leadership to the program, and he will add depth to the position.

Senior Michael Dison and junior Marcus Colbert are also point guards on the Bobcat roster.

Fish says Frenchwood’s signing completes the new coach’s first recruiting class with 13 scholarship players.
