ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - The Port of Rochester is being dredged.
U.S. Rep. Louise Slaughter says she will take part in a ceremony Tuesday marking the start of navigational dredging on Monday. Workers want to ensure safe navigation through the channel in the aftermath of silt build-up from Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
Slaughter in March announced an additional $2.2 million had been secured for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to complete the work.
