ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say a motorcyclist had died from injuries sustained in a collision with a dump truck.

The accident happened just after 8 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Dowling Road and Petersburg Street.

Police say in a release that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Dowling when it collided with a dump truck pulling a trailer. The truck was turning westbound onto Dowling from Petersburg at the time of the accident.



The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was declared dead later Thursday morning at a hospital. The motorcyclist’s identity will be released after next-of-kin are informed. The truck driver wasn’t injured.

No citations have been issued, and the accident remains under investigation.
