ADAMS, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Robertson County are continuing to search for a man who fell out of his canoe into the Red River.
According to WSMV-TV (https://bit.ly/1vomIkW), Charles Gourley was with his girlfriend, Lacy Henson, when the incident happened Saturday. Henson told police she put on her life jacket and tried to save him, but couldn’t.
Authorities said Gourley wasn’t wearing a life jacket.
Ryan Tooley, an employee at the Red River Valley Campground, told the television station that the couple were given life jackets when they rented their canoe.
He described them as experienced boaters.
“They go from river to river,” Tooley said. “They do this quite often.”
