Boy, 3, pulled from Mesa swimming pool

MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Firefighters say a boy drowned while playing with other kids in a Mesa swimming pool.

Mesa Fire Capt. Craig Chenery tells KTVK-TV (https://bit.ly/1o4cKkw) that the 3-year-old child was at a birthday party Saturday at a house near Power and McDowell roads.

Chenery says the toddler was playing in a hot tub but then somehow ended up in the pool.

Authorities say family members started CPR but the boy didn’t have a pulse when firefighters arrived.

The child was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Officials say it is still unclear how long the boy was underwater.
