HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police say a dispute over who would drive has left a 20-year-old woman dead and a man she was visiting charged with killing her.

Police spokeswoman Jodi Silva says officers who searched the man’s home following Saturday night’s shooting found narcotics and cash.

The Houston Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1jbJBmJ ) reports Michael Matthews has been charged with murder and possession of a controlled substance. Online jail records Sunday didn’t immediately list bond or an attorney for Matthews, who’s accused in the death of Marquis Demetria Isabelle.

Silva says the couple argued outside, near his vehicle, over who would drive. Silva says the man went into the house and retrieved a gun. Isabelle was shot in the chest and died at the scene.

Matthews was at his residence when police arrived.
