WATSON, La. (AP) - A group seeking to bring possible incorporation of the Watson community of Livingston Parish to a vote plans to meet Monday for an update on its petition drive.
The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1mVFhqX ) Neighbors In Action plans to meet at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Live Oak High School on Louisiana Highway 16.
Group spokeswoman Barbara Smith says the area proposed for incorporation has grown in population from about 8,000 in 1999, when voters rejected an incorporation proposal, to about 25,000 now.
