Police: Supermarket guard shot shoplift suspect

ST. LOUIS (AP) - An investigation continues after a suspected shoplifter was shot by a St. Louis supermarket guard.

The shooting happened about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at an Aldi store on North Kingshighway. Police say a guard at the store confronted a suspected shoplifter and shot him in the foot.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1j1Yaod ) reports that the wounded man is hospitalized in stable condition.
