LOST CREEK, W.Va. (AP) - Visitors won’t be able to use the pool at Watters Smith Memorial State Park for the third consecutive year.

Park ranger Andy Bennett says the pool closed in 2012 because of structural issues. He tells The Exponent Telegram (https://bit.ly/1sKzOVF ) that cracks in the pool’s walls and floor allowed water seep, and water lines beneath it were leaking.

Bennett says the pool needs to be replaced but budget cuts have delayed the project.

He says the 49-year-old pool served residents of southern Harrison County and other nearby communities.
