HARTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Longtime Coker College softball coach David Hanna is stepping down after 23 years.

The school announced Hanna’s decision Friday.

Hanna has led Coker into postseason play 21 times since 1991 at the NAIA and NCAA Division II levels. He leaves with a record of 760-310-1 and having won 14 conference championships.

Hanna was inducted into the Coker Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011 along with his 1998 softball team, which is considered one of the school’s best-ever athletic teams. The Cobras finished 54-3, were the NCAA South Atlantic Region champions and finished fifth at the NCAA Division II Softball National Championship.
