A partial collapse of two buildings in downtown D.C. led to the evacuation an adult entertainment establishment next door on Friday afternoon.

D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Tim Wilson said two interior buildings that were part of a four-building complex in the 400 block of K Street NW had “significant” structural damage.

One person was transported from the scene with minor injuries, Mr. Wilson said. The investigation is ongoing.

Magen Stevens, a law student who lives in the apartment building across the street, saw the collapse as it happened.

“I was sitting at my desk and I heard a rumbling sound and alarms. I looked out the window and saw what was happening and took a picture,” she said. “I went outside later to run some errands and when I came outside there were fire trucks and police all over and there was a K-9 unit.”

A local station reported that individuals were seen leaving the Cloakroom at 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
