MARICOPA, Ariz. (AP) - In a story May 20 about a shooting in Maricopa, The Associated Press reported erroneously the relationship between the victim and the suspect. Police say the victim was the suspect’s girlfriend, not his mother.

A corrected version of the story is below:

Authorities in Maricopa say a man has been arrested in the death of his girlfriend.

Police say Miguel Daniel Tapia was arrested Sunday after police were called by a neighbor after Tapia told her to call 911 because a woman was dying.

Police say officers then found Tapia’s girlfriend, Holly Berry, dead in the backyard with injuries to her face, abdomen and arms, and there was blood in the kitchen area leading to the backyard.

A spokesman said police don’t know whether Tapia has an attorney.
