SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - An Oklahoma man is in custody, accused in the 2004 death of a Louisiana man who had been reported missing.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator said Tuesday that a U.S. Marshal’s Task Force arrested 60-year-old Jake Robinson in Claremore, Oklahoma, Friday on a secret grand jury indictment bench warrant for the murder of 51-year-old Bruce Cotton.

Prator says two boys fishing on Feb. 29, 2004, found Cotton’s car pulled to the shoulder of a road with his body inside. Cotton’s family had reported him missing two days earlier.

Prator says Detective Terry Richardson has been following leads for 10 years. Last year, publicity about the case generated new witnesses leading them to Robinson, who is awaiting extradition to Louisiana.

It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
