GRETNA, La. (AP) - Jefferson Parish authorities are awaiting the results of toxicology tests to help determine the causes of death for a mother and daughter found in their Terrytown home.

A relative discovered the bodies of 80-year-old Mary Bordelon and 49-year-old Juanita Dean inside the house they shared about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Another of Bordelon’s daughters found the women after she went there to check on them after not having heard from them.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/SofZZl ) the coroner’s office suspects the women had been dead for less than 24 hours. Fire crews checked but found no indication of carbon monoxide gas in the home.

Mark Bone, the coroner’s chief investigator, says an autopsy Wednesday found no traumatic injuries on either woman.

Toxicology test results could take about a week.
