BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Two men searching for rocks along the Yellowstone River in a Billings park spotted a decomposing body in a cluster of trees near a bike path.

The Yellowstone County sheriff’s office says officers were called to Coulson Park at about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Sheriff Mike Linder tells The Billings Gazette (https://bit.ly/1lGt8UH ) the body had probably been there for months.

Officers were unable to determine whether the person was male or female or how they died. Linder says officers on Thursday were investigating the area around where the body was found. Linder says some remnants of clothing and other items may help identify the person.
