PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - The state Department of Environmental Quality has lifted a water-contact advisory in Jackson County.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1qXhOMb ) Station 15 at Shearwater beach, which stretches from Weeks Bayou to Ashley Place in Ocean Springs, was under an advisory for high bacteria levels.

Water samples taken by the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory now show bacteria levels have returned to acceptable levels in the area.
