OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - The state Transportation Department reopened Chinook Pass at noon Friday in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

The 5,430-foot pass on Highway 410 on the east side of Mount Rainier National Park is the last of three passes in Washington that reopen in the spring. The others were the North Cascades Highway segment of Highway 20 and Cayuse Pass on Highway 123, also east of Mount Rainier.
