WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) - Authorities say the death of a 92-year-old city man is suspicious and is being investigated by detectives.

Police said in a statement Friday that a relative discovered Aurele Fecteau’s body in his Brooklyn Avenue home. Fecteau’s body will be the subject of an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office on Saturday. Police declined to release more details about the investigation on Friday.

State and Waterville police are interviewing family, friends and neighbors of Fecteau.

Residents who may have seen anything suspicious in the neighborhood are asked to call state police in Augusta at 207-624-7076. He was a retired employee of the Scott Paper Company in Winslow and was predeceased by his wife.
