BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (AP) - Police say two parents who drove drunk with their small children in the car in separate incidents on Long Island are under arrest.

Suffolk County police say a 54-year-old Queens father was drunkenly driving fast in Brentwood with his 4- and 5-year-old daughters as passengers around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Meanwhile, Nassau County police say a 36-year-old Rockville Centre mother was seen driving erratically to a store in Oceanside Friday afternoon. She had her 2-year-old son with her.

No injuries were reported in either episode.

Both parents have been arrested on charges including an aggravated DWI offense that involves driving drunk with a passenger under 16. It’s called Leandra’s Law, after an 11-year-old girl killed when a woman drunkenly drove a station wagon full of children into a Manhattan highway wreck.
