DENVER (AP) - A 28-year-old woman who drove drunk and caused a fatal crash in Denver has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Denver District Attorney’s Office says Rebecca Maez was sentenced Friday for the Aug. 31 crash. She pleaded guilty in April to felony charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.

Prosecutors say she crashed into another vehicle while driving the wrong way in the HOV lanes north of Park Avenue. The crash seriously injured the driver of that vehicle and killed 34-year-old Jennifer Friede, who was a passenger.
