BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Massachusetts man is the unofficial winner of the Keybank Vermont City Marathon.
About 8,000 runners and thousands of spectators flocked to downtown Burlington for the 26th annual event on Sunday.
The Burlington Free Press reports (https://bfpne.ws/1oirvTj) that unofficial results put the time of the winner - Tyler Andrews of Concord, Massachusetts - at 2:20.
The female winner, according to unofficial results, is Jara Dihininet, with a time of 2:43:14.
The race began in Battery Park and the finish line was in Waterfront Park.
Among the runners was Olympic gold medal marathoner Joan Benoit Samuelson, who placed first in the women’s marathon at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Samuelson - a 57-year-old Maine native - was competing in the KeyBank marathon for the first time.
