MARRIOTTSVILLE, Md. (AP) - Officials say a 22-year-old man had to be rescued from the Patapsco River in Maryland and has been taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officials say they were called to the Patapsco River near Henrytown Road in Marriottsville around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, they found the man partially submerged in the water and when he was taken from the water he was in cardiac arrest.

Howard County Fire and Rescue and a Carroll County water rescue and dive team responded to the scene.
