SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A West Valley paramedic made a surprise discovery after responding to a traffic accident: his stolen flatbed trailer.

Alek House says he was shocked to find the trailer when he responded to a four-vehicle wreck in Salt Lake City on Friday.

Police say a pickup truck hauling the trailer crashed into a car from behind, creating a domino effect.

Tayne Pendleton was arrested for investigation of possession of a stolen trailer, identity fraud and negligent collision.

The 41-year-old Pendleton is accused of being in possession of other people’s credit cards and driver’s licenses.

House told the Deseret News that he and a friend whom he shares the trailer with last saw it several days before. He says both thought the other was using it.

House says he’s happy to get the trailer back, even though it was damaged in the wreck.
