PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Two people were hospitalized after they were wounded in separate shootings in the same area of Paterson.
The Record (https://bit.ly/1p80Gl6) reports the first shooting in the city’s Fourth Ward occurred around 2 p.m. Saturday, when authorities say a 21-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks in the area of Governor and Carroll streets. She was hospitalized in stable condition, but further details were not disclosed.
While police were still at the hospital with the injured woman, a 30-year-old man arrived at the emergency room in a private vehicle.
Authorities say he had been shot several times in the upper torso. He was listed in critical condition, but further details on his injuries were not disclosed.
The shootings do not appear to be connected, but motives have not been determined.
