SANDY, Utah (AP) - Real Salt Lake matched the Major League Soccer season-opening unbeaten streak Saturday by playing out a 0-0 with FC Dallas to remain undefeated after 12 matches.

The Los Angeles Galaxy opened the inaugural season with a 12-0 record (including two shootout victories) in 1996, before the league had draws.

Salt Lake continues to be without goalkeeper Nick Rimando and midfielder Kyle Beckerman, who were both selected to the U.S. squad for the World Cup.

In Harrison, New Jersey, Maximiliano Urruti scored in each half to give Portland a 2-1 win over the New York Red Bulls, extending the Timbers’ unbeaten streak to five games.

After Bradley Wright-Phillips put New York ahead in the 36th, Urruti equalized just before halftime and added the winner in the 74th to help Portland move out of last place in the Western Conference.

Columbus pair Ethan Finlay and Jairo Arrieta scored in the first half as the Crew beat the Chicago Fire 2-0 to end an eight-game winless streak, while Patrick Mullins and Diego Fagundez scored in the New England Revolution’s 2-1 win over D.C. United. Fabian Espindola scored for D.C. United.

Seattle’s Gonzalo Pineda scored from a penalty in the 82nd minute to give the Sounders a 1-1 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
