WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) - Officials say 12 people have been arrested and more than 60 cited for underage drinking after police broke up a large party in West Valley City over the weekend.

West Valley City Police Lt. Dalan Taylor says officers were called to a home near 4500 West Volta Ave. around 1 a.m. Sunday after several people complained about noise and guests at the party.

Taylor says police arrested the 20-year-old party host, who was also accused of holding a knife and refusing to let guests leave.

The party host was being held in Salt Lake County Jail on Monday on suspicion of kidnapping, rioting, weapons possession, disorderly conduct and other charges.

Taylor says 11 others were arrested and dozens of others were cited for underage drinking.
