EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - Competition in this year’s University of Central Oklahoma Endeavor Games for athletes with physical disabilities kicks off June 6.

The event on and around the Edmond-based campus has become a nationally recognized competition that allows all athletes with physical disabilities to participate in a multi-sport event. 

This year’s games offer 11 sports, including archery, cycling, shooting, swimming, track and field and wheelchair basketball. Athletes can register for multiple adaptive sports.

Admission to all events is free and open to the public.

The Endeavor Games began in 2000 and has grown into the largest multi-sport, multi-disability event in the U.S., with athletes from more than 40 states and four countries having attended.
