KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) - A security guard critically wounded when a gunman went on a rampage at a FedEx facility is scheduled to undergo his 14th operation Tuesday.

WSB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1wdSH7U) that Christopher Sparkman on Monday celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary from his hospital bed. He was shot at close range with a shotgun.

Police said 19-year-old co-worker Geddy Kramer shot Sparkman at the start of an April 29 attack at a FedEx facility near Atlanta. Police say Kramer wounded six people, including Sparkman, before killing himself.

Sparkman called 911 shortly after he was shot, telling emergency workers that he had been shot in the gut and abdomen — and he was rapidly losing energy.

“Please, tell my wife I love her,” he is heard saying on a recording of the 911 call.
