STRINGTOWN, Okla. (AP) - A prison inmate who escaped from the Mack Alford Correctional Center in Stringtown has been captured.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says 28-year-old Robert Jackson was apprehended in Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Authorities say they first noticed Jackson was missing when he wasn’t present Monday evening during the 8:30 p.m. head count. They don’t know when he escaped.

Jackson is serving time a for a 2008 burglary conviction. The Mack Alford Correctional Center is a medium security prison that houses male offenders.
