ATLANTA (AP) - Transportation officials say they’re adding rail cars to bolster service on train lines with routes ending at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority officials say the agency will begin using six rail cars Tuesday for trains running on the red and gold lines. Both lines begin at the airport, and the routes end in Doraville and North Springs.

Officials say the shift is part of a system-wide improvement aimed at offering more frequent service and cutting customer wait times.

MARTA officials say the agency will continue monitoring customer feedback and ridership trends.
