OPAL, Va. (AP) - Fauquier County fire officials are investigating a Memorial Day fire that killed a woman.

The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 65-year-old Amy Jo Walsh Jones.

The fire occurred Monday morning at a house in Opal.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jim Hartman tells media outlets that neighbors saw the fire and rescued Jones from the house. When firefighters arrived, the neighbors were performing CPR on Jones in the backyard. She died at the scene.

Hartman says the fire doesn’t appear to be suspicious. The cause hasn’t been determined.
