ST. LOUIS (AP) - Some transit buffs and St. Louis neighborhood leaders hope to resurrect a vacant train station along the city’s popular Delmar Loop.

The old Wabash Railroad station on Delmar Boulevard is adjacent to the St. Louis MetroLink’s Delmar Loop stop. The group Citizens for Modern Transit and the Skinker DeBaliviere (duh-BAH’-luh-vuhr) Community Council are promoting an effort to restore the historic building as a possible entrance to the MetroLink station.

A public discussion of the restoration project is scheduled for June 7 at the Collegiate School of Medicine & Bioscience.
