MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Residents of Minot are getting a chance to comment on a proposed flood protection project near the city’s water treatment plant.

Public Works Director Dan Jonasson says a consultant has developed concepts similar to ones in Grand Forks and Fargo.

Minot is working to protect its water treatment plant from Souris River floods like the one in June 2011, which swamped a good part of the city.

A public input meeting on the federally funded treatment plant protection project was scheduled late Wednesday afternoon.
